New Groups

[edit] Whether to become a society
SAR Alberta does not require it's member organizations to be societies. In the past some members have been:
- unincorporated groups
- branches of the municipal government's emergency services
- a project (Alberta CASARA)
- a chapter of another society
- a section of municipal, provincial or federal government (police, AEMA, parks)
However you may want to become a society for other reasons
- AEMA training grants appear to require society status
- being part of larger society means the larger society can only apply (once) for some grants (e.g. casino)
