Brett maintains many electronic mailing lists to help make SARA communications work smoothly.
Viruses are automatically blocked. Spam (unsolicited commercial e-mail) is not blocked.

The address of each mailing list is of the form xxxxxx @castrov.cuug.ab.ca. The xxxxxx is listed below. (I don't list the full address each time so as to minimize the spam).
sara-board mail goes to all board members (President, Vice-President,
Secretary, Past President, Region's Directors, Region's Deputy
Directors). Used mostly for internal discussion. Automatically
updated from the BoardDatabase.

[edit] Adding New Lists
It's relatively easy for BrettWuth to add new mailing lists using MailMan. It takes about an hour per list if you can provide all the needed information.
- a description of the purpose of the list. The description will be published on the list's webpage.
- a suggested address for the list in the form sara-xxxxxx@castrov.cuug.ab.ca
- the e-mail address of someone who is willing to do adminstrative work (e.g. help new subscribers) The workload for most lists is usually less than 5 minutes a month.
- the list of initial subscribers
- whether or not new people should be allowed to subscribe on their own
BrettWuth creates the list by running these commands on castrov.dyndns.org as root:
newlist
edit /etc/aliases to include the newly generated list of aliases
login as adminstrator and set up as above
